Caesar hears the footsteps approach, and knows who it is by the sound alone. It surprises him somewhat that the man is still up and about at this hour, but when he realizes this he chides himself. His parents' light was on when he passed, as was Rylander's: none of them are sleeping well, not with Rex in the condition he is. Why would this man be any different?
He does not care about you safety, his mother's voice repeated softly in his mind. Caesar, tienes que entender--there is something wrong with him.
"Van Kleiss." He glances down at his work. "... I'll go in a little while. I've been making progress."
Caesar never was the best liar--especially not after so much lost sleep.
"What are you doing here at this hour?" Caesar redirects, turning politely to face him. "Did you forget something?"
